The Clash – Magnificent Dance (Dirty Harry bootleg edit)
Here’s an interesting 12″ that I picked up recently for the princely sum of $1. Apparently it’s quite rare. At least judging by the $158 someone paid for it on eBay.
I don’t know when it was released as there’s no date on it, but i’m guessing it came out around the time that The Clash released the single for “The Magnificent Seven” which would put it at about 1981. Basically what we have here is a bootleg 12″ that cuts up The Magnificent Seven/Magnificent Dance and throws in some Dirty Harry samples at the end. Personally I could have done without the samples, but you would’ve probably mixed out of it by then, and i’m sure it was more of a novelty in 1981 than it is now. Overall it’s a pretty solid effort for a bootleg from that era, and it’s always nice to have one of those “what the hell is this” kind of records in your box.
Pretty nice considering a bootleg. I agree, the samples at the end could’ve taken a miss. Nice one tho.
